Kenya Trip June/July
We are excited to be joining an International Needs team on their Discovery Tour, visiting projects that they support in Kenya and Uganda. We particularly look forward to seeing the progress that has been made at Ark Quest Education Centre. Since our last trip in 2019, the first six permanent classrooms have been completed and are being fully utilised. We hope that this trip will be a catalyst to initiate Phase 2 of the building project so that all the students can have a safe and functional learning environment, a contrast to the original mud classrooms which are rapidly disintegrating.
Generous Donations
A special thank you to Tauranga Adventist School who have updated their uniforms and have kindly donated their obsolete clothing for us to take to Ark Quest. For a community that struggles to provide food and daily needs for their families, donations such as these are truly appreciated!
Latest Feedback
Ark Quest has been partnering with neighbouring schools in spreading the gospel, encouraging the community to focus on the Lord as they deal with mental health challenges that are currently rampant.
The older pupils are learning to integrate various crops as part of their agricultural programme.
Grade 6 and 9 students have begun their formal testing, and all eligible candidates are registered for their national tests.
Some challenges this quarter have been the lack of teaching and learning materials in the Junior School, and unreliable access to online learning.
We continue to see how Ark Quest is impacting the local community. An example of this is that one of the school parents is now making the school uniforms, providing income for her family.
