We wanted to share a snapshot of what’s been happening at Ark Quest recently—it’s been a really encouraging start to the year.
The 2026 school year began with strong momentum, opening with 94 students on the first day and growing quickly to 149 by the end of the week. This steady increase reflects both the community’s need and the value families place on education.
It’s been especially great to see how well the students are doing. They are engaged in their learning and achieving strong results, with some placing at the top in regional assessments. Even more encouraging, all of last year’s graduates have progressed to senior secondary school, many moving into science and mathematics pathways.
The impact is also being felt beyond the school. Parents are actively engaging in training around practical farming methods, which is already helping improve food security and support household income.
A key highlight this quarter has been the installation of reliable internet, thanks to a generous donor. This has made a significant difference in the classroom, allowing for more interactive lessons, better access to information, and new opportunities for digital learning.
While there are still challenges—such as ageing buildings, limited resources, and unpredictable weather conditions and food supply—the commitment to providing consistent, quality education remains strong.
For those supporting from here in New Zealand, this is the difference you’re helping make; a practical, meaningful change for both students and their wider community.
Thank you for being part of the journey!
